PRESS RELEASES / NEWS:

NJ NAACP 06-18-2010: (Trenton, NJ) — The New Jersey State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NJSCNAACP) appreciates the special recognition of “Juneteenth” Day by Governor Christopher Christie because the elimination of slavery changed the legal status of people of African ancestry in the United States of America. Gov. Chris Christie, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno and Attorney General Paula Dow are commended for conducting this proclamation ceremony on June 18, 2010 in the State House.

NJ NAACP 06-09-2010
: (Newark, NJ)The NJSCNAACP is strongly opposed to S-1 until and unless it is amended to include our recommendations.  Statements
that the NJSCNAACP supports S-1 in its current form, are rumors that are misrepresenting the NJSCNAACP position.  Please review this information to understand our concerns.

NJ NAACP 06-07-2010: (Newark, NJ) Please take a few minutes to watch NJSCNAACP President, James E. Harris, debate Derrell Bradford, Executive Director of "Excellent Education for Everyone (E3)" last week on the NJN Television Show, "On the Record" about our organization's opposition to Voucher Legislation S-1872, the "Opportunity Scholarship Act." Michael Aron hosts this weekly television show. Please click on the link below, or copy and paste it in your browser: http://www.njn.net/television/webcast/ontherecord.html
